Abdul Basit, PhD, is Professor of Pharmaceutics at the University College London (UCL) School of Pharmacy. Professor Basit is a world leading authority on oral drug delivery, digital health, innovative pharmaceutical technologies, including 3D printing, and translational research. Professor Basit leads a large and multi-disciplinary research group, where his research sits at the interface between the microbiome, 3D printing of pharmaceuticals, digital health and gastro-enterology, forging links between basic science and clinical outcomes. He has founded two spin-out companies (FabRx and Intract Pharma) and has invented several drug products that have entered the clinic. He has published over 350 papers, book chapters, abstracts, and patents.
