Brendan Griffin

Brendan Griffin is currently Professor of Pharmaceutics and Head of School of Pharmacy at University College Cork, Ireland. Having completed his BSc. Pharm. degree at the School of Pharmacy in Trinity College Dublin (TCD), he proceeded to a PhD. in the Pharmaceutics at TCD.  After working in pharmaceutical industry for a number of years (at Élan and Servier), he returned to academia in 2005.  His research interests include formulation technology to improve oral drug delivery, influence of microbiome of drug product performance and computational pharmaceutics tools to streamline drug product development.  He has authored over 90 peer reviewed publications;  he is Project Coordinator of the €4m H2020 funded Marie Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) ‘InPharma’ (https://www.inpharma-network.eu/) to establish a new fully integrated, animal-free, end-to-end modelling approach in oral drug product development.
